This Providence - My Beautiful Rescue (Album: This Providence / 2006)

I've been jumping from the tops of buildings.
For the thrill of the fall.
Ignoring sound advice.
And any thought of consequence.
My bones are shattered.
My pride is shattered.
And in the midst of this self-inflicted pain.
I can see my beautiful rescue.

I'm falling more in love.
With every single word I withhold.
I'm falling more in love.
With every single word you say.
I'm falling head-over-heels for you.

I've been dancing on the tops of buildings.
At the top of my lungs I'm singing you a song.
Don't you leave me alone.
My bones were shattered.
My pride lays shattered.

Well I'll trample my pride and tell the whole world.
To dance with me.

I'm falling more in love.
With every single word I withhold.
I'm falling more in love.
With every single word you say.
I'm falling head-over-heels for you again.

I'm crying out.
"Wash my hands, these bloody hands Lord. Open my mouth and I'll sing."

I'm falling more in love.
With every single word I withhold.
I'm falling more in love.
With every single word you say.
I'm falling head-over-heels for you.
I've been dancing on the tops of buildings.
With you.
Damnit. I'm fucking pissed off. I returned home at like, 10.45pm yesterday, and got a darn scolding bye my parents. Fuck. So. I argued with them until like 1am. Then I just locked my door and watched TV. Till 3am. And I fell asleep. Then this morning, I was suppose to go for mass at Novena. But I woke up at 8.45am (mass starts at 8.30am) and realised my parents and my brother left already. So I was like. Fuck. Then I decided to skip mass. And breakfast. Heck care. That's not even the end. Once they got back, I got screwed upside down again for not attending mass. Fuck. Now I'm pissed.

Amazing. Arsenal are back on top of the Barclays Premier League. Spectacular, though its pretty sad that Nicklas Bendtner and Mikel Arteta got sent off. Bendtner's a pretty good striker, strong in the air, while Arteta's wicked with his feet.

Everton 1 - 4 Arsenal

By Richard Clarke

Arsenal are back on top of the Premier League.

They were restored to the summit thanks to Manchester United’s defeat and then their own remarkable 4-1 comeback in a tempestuous game at Goodison Park on Saturday evening that saw both sides reduced to 10 men.

Tim Cahill’s goal deservedly gave the home side the advantage at the break. But within 12 minutes of the restart Arsenal had snatched the lead thanks to a fine brace from Eduardo, his first strikes in the Premier League.

Nicklas Bendtner’s dismissal in the 73rd minute threatened to unsettle the visitors as they started to look to the final whistle. But, in the end, they were handed a third goal when Emmanuel Abedayor profited from hesitancy between Joseph Yobo and Tim Howard.

Mikel Arteta threw out an arm at Cesc Fabregas in the 84th minute and also saw red. It undermined Everton’s late rally and substitute Tomas Rosicky added a fourth in injury time. This was far from Arsenal’s best performance of the season but it did illustrate, perhaps more than any other game this term, the type of qualities they will need to win the title.

And, of course, they are now clear at the top by two points.

Wenger made three changes from the side held to a 0-0 draw at Portsmouth on Boxing Day. All smacked of rotation in order to accommodate the busy Christmas period. Emmanuel Eboue was rested entirely while Adebayor and Rosicky were left on the bench. As a result Bendtner and Eduardo were paired up front while Abou Diaby came in on the left. Alex Hleb went from support striker to right midfielder.

Just before kick-off, the visiting Arsenal supporters heard confirmation of Manchester United’s defeat at West Ham. It meant Wenger’s men would resume the lead of the Premier League with victory this evening. That was no formality however. They faced an Everton side who had a record of W12 D2 L1 in their last 15 games.

The start was scrappy. Arsenal were lively and inquisitive in the opening minutes however the best chance they conjured up was a goal-bound Fabregas shot that was blocked on the edge of the area. In fact Everton keeper Tim Howard would have worry-free first half.

As the game wore on, the home side took over - though Almunia was hardly overworked either. Gradually Arteta and Cahill started to find space in midfield while Yakubu’s muscle was proving a handful for the Arsenal defence. In the 19th minute the Nigerian went shoulder to shoulder with Kolo Toure, the visitors’ strongest player, and won a corner on the left-hand side.

Arteta whipped it into the six-yard box and the Arsenal defence hesitated. That was all that was required. The ball bobbled to the far post where a combination of Yakubu’s head and Cahill’s foot turned it home off the post. Eventually the strike was credited to the Australian but, from an Arsenal perspective, it had been all too easy.

Everton had been rightly confident before the goal. Afterwards they were full of vigour and determination. Steven Pienaar pulled an effort six yards wide of goal, Phil Neville drove over following a flowing move and, just before the whistle, Arteta forced a low save from Almunia.

Arsenal rallied briefly as the seconds ticked away but they could hardly argue with the scoreline at the interval.

But what a change after the restart.

Three minutes in, Clichy’s long ball forward caught the home defence napping. It flew over the backtracking Phil Jagielka and fell to the scampering Eduardo who showed commendable nerve to steer home his shot under pressure from three recovering defenders.

It was the Croatian’s first goal in 10 Premier League appearances and Arsenal’s 800th in the competition under Wenger.

Everton were suddenly subdued while the visitors had a spring in their step and a bite in their challenge.
However just before Arsenal took the lead, the home side spurned a superb chance to score a second themselves. Joleon Lescott fired over a cross from the left and Yakubu escaped from Toure to steer a powerful header wide.

Still Everton had already paid painful witness to Eduardo’s poaching ability and, in the 58th minute, he added a second. The 24-year-old collected Bendtner’s flick on the edge of the area, nudged the ball past Jagielka, ran around the other side and then slipped the ball past Howard.

A wonderful finish from an expert poacher. Everton were stung. They did not deserve to be losing on the balance of play while Arsenal were attempting to pull off to a classic snatch-and-grab — the staple diet of Premier League champions.

However their chances of a clean getaway were dented in the 73rd minute when Bendtner picked up a second booking for a foul on Andy Johnson. It was certainly a rash challenge but the dismissal was all the more distressing as Adebayor had been waiting to come on for a couple of minutes. With Eduardo on a hat-trick, it would seem safe to assume the Dane was about to be substituted.

The red card only added to the mounting Everton momentum. Almunia saved from both Johnson’s flick-on and Lee Carsley’s low shot in the 76th minute. However for all their reputation for flowing football, it was a route-one goal that sealed the game two minutes later. Adebayor nipped in as Joseph Yobo tried to shepherd Almunia’s long punt forward towards his keeper. The Togolese striker’s touch bounced off Howard’s leg and fell kindly for him to race clear and tap the ball into the empty net.

The drama was not over. Six minutes from time Arteta received a straight red card for lashing out at Fabregas. The second dismissal brought a simmering game to the boil in the final few minutes

Rosicky fired in a fourth at the death. That was harsh on Everton who had bossed the game for much of the first half.

But, as well as a fluent side, Arsenal are a ruthless side these days.

And they are all the better for it.
I had no idea. That braces can give you mind-splitting headaches. Damn braces.

What a day. After I finished my Chinese, I was like, gaming, until my brother called and told me to meet him at Plaza Singapura to watch a movie with his buddies and him. So. I left my Aunt's house and took an MRT all the way down there. The movie was at 4.45pm, and I reached at 4.40pm. Just in time. One of my brother's friends thought I was his OLDER brother, she must be nuts. LOL. Literally. I Am Legend. Pretty awesome movie, the build-up towards the climaz was pretty darn good, but the ending was kinda BAD. Quite bad. But it was overall okay. Just the ending.

Yellowcard - Shrink The World (Album: Paper Walls / 2007)

If I could then I'd,
Shrink the world tonight,
So that I would find,
You and me inside.

A life in love a picture of a place I'm nowhere near,
A bleeding heart a good head start to anywhere but here.
Just let me out please let me out before I turn into,
A box of things reminding me how much I'm missing you.
(I am missing you)

If I could then I'd,
Shrink the world tonight,
So that I would find,
You and me inside.
Of the last good scene,
A film that changes things,
Breaks us makes us sing,
Leaves us wondering.

And through the wall, the fist you call, but then you always run,
So what's it for, the love and war, it's only fair for some,
You save the girl, you save the world, well that's not true it seems,
A lesson learned, speak out a turn, I bite my tongue it bleeds.

(Bite my tongue it bleeds)

If I could then I'd,
Shrink the world tonight,
So that I would find,
You and me inside.
Of the last good scene,
A film that changes things,
Breaks us makes us sing,
Leaves us wondering.

Are you wondering?

If I could then I'd,
Shrink the world tonight,
So that I would find,
You and me inside.
Of the last good scene,
A film that changes things,
Breaks us makes us sing,
Leaves us wondering.
(If I could 3x) Shrink the world tonight
(If I could 3x) Shrink the world tonight.
And now. I'm kinda done. Finally. And I'm darn hungry. Need lunch. And my teeth still hurt. Fuck it.

Arctic Monkeys - Old Yellow Bricks (Album: Favourite Worst Nightmare / 2007)
Old yellow bricks,
Love's a risk,
Quite the little Escapoligist
Looked so miffed,
When you wished,
For a thousand places better than this,
You are the fugitive,
But you don't know what you're running from,
You can't kid us,
And you couldn't trick anyone,
Houdini, love you don't know what you're running away from,
Who wants to sleep in the city that never wakes up?
Blinded by nostalgia,
Who wants to sleep in the city that never wakes up?
She was enraged by the way,
That the emperor put traps in the cage,
And the days she being dull,
Lead to nights reading beer bottles,
You're such a fugitive,
But you don't know what you're running from,
You cant kid us,
And you couldn't trick anyone,
Houdini, love you don't know what you're running away from,
Who wants to sleep in the city that never wakes up?
Blinded by nostalgia,
Who wants to sleep in a city that never wakes up?
You're at a loss,
Just because,
It wasn't all that you thought it was,
You are a fugitive but you don't know what you're running away from,
She said I want to sleep in the city that never wakes up,
And revel in nostalgia,
I know I said
Who wants to sleep in the city that never wakes up but,
Dorothy was right though
Since I'm feeling so miserable, I'm going down for a swim. Good day.

Barclays Premier League
Fratton Park
Wednesday, December 26, 2007, 7.45pm

Portsmouth 0 - 0 Arsenal
By Chris Harris
Arsenal were top at Christmas, but they've been knocked off their perch before the turkey has gone cold.
A goalless draw at Portsmouth, coupled with Manchester United's crushing win at Sunderland, leaves Arsene Wenger's side one point behind the champions at the halfway point of the Premier League season.
Tomas Rosicky, with a swivel and shot in the second half and a last-gasp effort which flew inches wide, went closest to scoring for Arsenal, while Benjani provided Pompey's most dangerous moments. But a draw was
probably a fair result.
This was not a night to remember but perspective is needed. Arsenal's tally of 44 points from 19 games has exceeded expectations this season. If they can maintain that standard in the second half of the season, the pre-season title outsiders will be there or thereabouts in May.

Before the game Wenger suggested he would not risk Robin van Persie's thigh strain and so it proved. The Frenchman named the same XI which started against Tottenham on Saturday but opted for rotation among the substitutes with Abou Diaby, Lassana Diarra and Alex Song joining derby hero Nicklas Bendtner on the bench.
There were some familiar faces in the Pompey side with Kanu, Sol Campbell and Lauren starting against their former club. Indeed, the home team fielded three regulars from the 'Invincibles' side compared to just one - Kolo Toure - in the Gunners line-up. Strange indeed.
Arsenal handed out a 5-1 beating to Pompey in the FA Cup here a few years ago but, generally, games between these teams at Fratton Park have been tight encounters. Tonight's meeting followed the rule, not the exception. It was no great surprise - Pompey had failed to score in six hours of Premier League football at Fratton Park and both sides fielded a lone striker for much of the game. It made for a rather dull affair, particularly in the first half.
It might have been a different story had the six-foot-plus Emmanuel Adebayor met Emmanuel Eboue's drilled cross into the box after just 42 seconds. Instead it was the diminutive Cesc Fabregas in the centre-forward position - and the ball merely skimmed off his head.
Eboue created that chance with a driving run into the box and he was at the heart of Arsenal's best early efforts. The Ivorian played a neat one-two with Adebayor after five minutes but his first-time effort whistled well over the bar. Nine minutes later he at least warmed the palms of David James with a low shot from the edge of the box.
At the other end Kanu played Benjani through but his cut-back eluded Sulley Muntari. But neither side had got into their stride and Arsenal's most creative players - Fabregas, Alex Hleb and Rosicky - were struggling to get into the game.
Nico Kranjcar showed good footwork to create a shooting chance from 20 yards after 27 minutes but his fizzing effort flew a yard wide of Almunia's left-hand post with the Spaniard at full stretch. Then Rosicky cut inside and curled a sumptuous effort towards the top corner. James timed his leap to perfection to pluck the ball from the air.
It was difficult to see where a goal was coming from but the game opened up slightly after the break.
Benjani fired the first salvo of the second half, beating Clichy on the outside and testing Almunia at his near post with a rasping drive. But Arsenal pressed forward and, until the hour mark, set up camp in the Pompey half.
Half-chances came and went. Bacary Sagna burst into the box but his cross, directed towards Adebayor, was diverted behind for a corner. Kolo Toure picked up the pieces when the corner was delivered and went down under Richard Hughes' challenge. Steve Bennett waved the penalty claims away. Then Hleb raced past Campbell on the left and reached the byline with Adebayor screaming for a cut-back and Fabregas calling for a far-post cross. Both were denied as Hleb's delivery sliced out of play.

Rosicky was making the difference, exerting more influence on the game after swapping positions with Hleb. But it wasn't one-way traffic. Pompey had their moments too.

Kanu lashed high and wide just after the hour mark and Almunia had to race out of his goal to clear as Benjani homed in a few minutes later. The same striker leapt to meet a left-wing cross with 24 minutes left but his downward header lacked power. Then Kranjcar turned Sagna inside out on the left and fired in low shot which bobbled up off the turf - Almunia did well to hold on.

Wenger replaced Eboue with Diaby and then Hleb with Bendtner but Rosicky looked the most likely, swivelling past Lauren on the left-hand side of the box before poking a left-foot shot wide of James' near post. At the other end Benjani raced clear and knocked the ball past Almunia, but Clichy raced back to clear the danger as the Pompey striker looked to apply the finishing touch.
William Gallas, who has popped up with some vital late goals for Arsenal this season, almost did the trick again two minutes from time. He collected Fabregas' low pass six yards out with Campbell in close attention. His spin was excellent but his shot skewed just over the bar.
Then, with seconds remaining, Fabregas found Bendtner inside the box. He chested the ball down, turned past his marker and prodded the ball towards Rosicky. The Czech star fired inches wide with James beaten. It summed up the game - not bad, but not good enough.

Darn. I've finally realised how fast the holidays went by. One minute I'm lazying around, the next I'm rushing to do my homework. Damn you homework. Damn you. And. The worst part is that there's only six more days till school reopens. And minus the weekends (which I never work on), I have four days to rush the remainder of my homework. Which is everything. Mayday Parade - Jersey (Album: A Lesson In Romantics / 2007)

Cause jersey just got colder and
I'll have you know I'm scared to death
That everything that you had said to me was just
A lie until you left
Now I'm hoping just a little bit stronger
Hold me up just a little bit longer
I'll be fine, i swear
I'm just gone beyond repair

Let's write a song that we can dance to
Cause they all wanna listen
Just to know how it sounds when
I do that thing you know that i do
When i find inspiration
This is me breaking down when

Jersey just got colder and
I'll have you know I'm scared to death
That everything that you had said to me was just
A lie until you left
Now I'm hoping just a little bit stronger
Hold me up just a little bit longer
I'll be fine, i swear
I'm just gone beyond repair

Let's write a song that we can sing to
And you can lead the choir
And put the hook where it hurts most
And you threw a spark that lit the candle
That set us all on fire

And sent a flame down the east coast

Jersey just got colder and
I'll have you know I'm scared to death
That everything that you had said to me was just
A lie until you left
Now I'm hoping just a little bit stronger
Hold me up just a little bit longer
I'll be fine, i swear
I'm just gone beyond repair

And i should have been your everything
I'm now at the end of my eternity
And i will sleep to have the darkest dreams
This just won't seem right to me I close my eyes and beg for peace

Jersey just got colder and...
Jersey just got colder and...
Jersey just got colder and...

Jersey just got colder and
I'll have you know I'm scared to death
That everything that you had said to me was just
A lie until you left
Now I'm hoping just a little bit stronger
Hold me up just a little bit longer
I'll be fine, i swear
I'm just gone beyond repair

In the spirit of Christmas, I'll include a Christmas Carol.

Frosty The Snowman

Frosty the Snowman
Was a jolly happy soul
With a corncob pipe and a button nose
And two eyes made out of coal

(chorus)

Frosty the Snowman
Is a fairytale they say
He was made of snow
But the children know
How he came to life one day

There must have been some magic
In that old silk hat they found
For when they placed it on his head
He began to dance around

Frosty the Snowman
Was alive as he could be
And the children say
He could laugh and play
Just the same as you and me

Frosty the Snowman
Knew the sun was hot that day
So he said let's run
And we'll have some fun
Now before I melt away

Down to the village
With a broomstick in his hand
Running here and there all around the square
Saying catch me if you can

He led them down the streets of town
Right to the traffic cop
And he only paused a moment when
He heard him holler stop

Frosty the Snowman
Had to hurry on his way
But he waved goodbye
Saying don't you cry
I'll be back again some day

Thumpety thump thump
Thumpety thump thump
Look at Frosty go
Thumpety thump thump
Thumpety thump thump
Over the hills of snow

No one knows how you feel
No one there you’d like to see
The day was dark and full of pain
You write help with you own blood
Cuz hope is all you’ve got
You open up your eyes
but nothing has changed

I don’t want to cause you trouble
Don’t wanna stay too long
I just came there to say to you

Turn around
I am here
If you want it’s me you'll see
Doesn’t countfar or near
I can hold you when you reach for me

Your life is meaningless
You diary full of trash
It’s so hard to get along with empty hands
You’re looking for the rainbow
but it died not long ago
It tried to shine just for you until the end

I don’t want to cause you trouble
Don’t wanna stay too long
I just came there to say to you

I am by your side
just for a little while

Turn around
I am here
If you want it’s me you’ll see
Doesn’t count
far or near
I can hold you
when you reach for me

If the world makes you confused
And your senses you seem to lose
If the storm doesn’t wanna diffuse
And you just don’t know what to do
Look around
I am here
Doesn’t count

I am by your side

First post!
On Christmas.
HOMEWORK DONE PERCENTAGE - 0%
Well, it occurred to me that I'm actually suppose to put words in this blog. So. Here goes.
Anyways. Christmas this year really sucked. LOUSY PRESENTS. I didn't enjoy it with anyone special. Only family. I rushed my remainder of my homework. Which is hell lot. Then, my Aunt called me and told me my Chinese homework (which I was suppose to have completed), isn't finished. So I was irked at the idea of having to work on Christmas. Amazing. Therefore, I spent half my Christmas attempting to do my work. Besides that, my cousins just returned from Japan. So. Around 5pm, I left the house to go to Changi Airport. To eat dinner there. What a great way to spend Christmas. Then again, I got home at 11pm. And began to do my Chinese again. Yes, I'm still doing my homework. Currently, while I'm writing this post.
